Cross
The Appalachian Christian Center is located on approximately 4.5 acres of land. Behind the church, on the hillside, the cross has been displayed as a reminder of our the tremendous price that our blessed Savior paid for our salvation. The area around the edge is mulch. The white area is white gravel. The cross is outlined with mulch. The cross itself is made of red mulberry shrubbery. The shrubbery will be a bright red in the spring and change during the course of the summer into a deep maroon by late fall. One green mulberry plant is planted at the foot of the cross and one at each end of the cross bar. These are to remind us of the nails that pierced our Savior's flesh as He hung upon the cross, that we might have life. At the head of the cross is a statue of our Blessed Saviour inviting all to come to the cross.
Because of the constant requirement for maintenance, in 2012 the shrubbery was removed and replaced with red rubber mulch. The border between each area was treated lumber and that was replaced with grey composite wood.
Have you met the Master at the cross? |
