The 10 Commandments

A beautiful stone monument of the 10 Commandments was denoted to the church, which is displayed in front of the building. It is a remainder of the law, which was given to show man his need of a personal saviour. The 10 Commandments shows mankind the requirments of a Holy God. It also shows us our failures due to living in the flesh, due to our sin nature. Although we, in the flesh, are unable to live according to the law, it gives us a standard in life to strive for. As Paul states in the book of Philippians, "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:12-14)

We should be pressing towards the mark that was set by Jesus Christ.

So often we see or hear of battles to have the 10-Commandments removed from our schools, government or federal buildings, and other public places such as court houses. We as Christians should make a point to have them displayed when and where possible.
